It can be tricky playing this class as the hunter has specific strengths and weaknesses.
Ranged warfare are where the hunters skills lie, including using bows, guns and crossbow. Using these means the hunter is very good at extinguishing their enemies. Survival and tracking are two other strengths that the hunter has under its belt. Damage from an attack in this class can be absorbed on the hunters behalf by a pet, leaving you more time to play. What they don’t excel at: Melee fighting is the most problematic for the hunter class. The class isn’t eligible for armor until you reach level 40, so this can be quite an issue in the early levels. Picking a Profession for Your Hunter
After deciding to play this class, a profession needs to be chosen that fits with the hunters skills. The best professions to choose are skinning and leatherworking as this will allow you to make your own armor. However, another great combination is mining and skinning since this will allow you to make enough money to quickly purchase additional armor and weapons. There are professions that the hunter is not suited to, these include tailoring, enchanting and alchemy.
The other classes may find these professions very useful, where as the hunter gains no benefit. One profession that can be of some use is herbalism, this allows you to concoct your own potions for healing. Gaining a pet on the other hand can also help with melee fighting and herbalism takes a back seat.
The Use of Weapons
Previously mentioned was the fact that the hunters skills are in ranged warfare. You may just want to concentrate on crossbows and bows, unless you develop the skill to use guns as well. When you first start out, you’ll get a pretty basic bow, but you can purchase a more effective one as you progressive through the levels that will earn you more skills and help you become more accurate. There are also many ranged weapons that you can earn as you complete quests. For more information on our Hunter Guide WoW follow the link.
