AOL Gold Rush – We are reaching the Finals

October 30th, 2006 · 13 Comments

Tomorrow out AOL Gold Rush Experience will come to a close for now, with the AOL GOLD RUSH Million Dollar Round 13 games 11, 12 and the GOLD FINAL.  The top six people that finish the Gold Challenge will be selected to compete in the Finals along with the other 12 Round winners.

The Round opens at 3PM EST and the First 6 fastest will win.  These are the only times that matter, completing the GOLD RUSH Final.

I will be here tomorrow on time, and help supply the answers as i get them, but will also open up three threads for the Group Effort.  It appears the Group Effort is both fun and helpful.

If you are having computer problems, I suggest you get Mozilla Firefox it helps with the game.  Also Clear your Cache and make sure you login and refresh prior to playing.  I suggest you go for Game Answer 12 first since the world will be attempting 11 and could be lagging the AOL Servers. If you haven’t checked out the Mozilla Firefox Browser yet you can get it FREE Here:

Expect several long puzzles tomorrow as well, with the GOLD Final being somewhat cryptic.  Think outside the box, what will the pictures represent.  It has recently been pictures that represent letters in the alphabet that spell out a question to answer.  Once the question is found, the answer is just an Internet search away.

Give us your feedback.  Have you heard of any cool games we can play together, because it’s a shame we should all have to go our separate ways when GOLD RUSH finishes.

I would like to thank all those that supplied answers in the past via comments and have supported this site and effort. I have made some cool friends along the way and hope to make many more in the future.

Also I was thinking, if anyone would like to write for this Site on any topic, I could set up A Column for your words, wisdom, humor, opinions, or thoughts.  Just give me a jingle at egehler@gmail.com

    Eric,

Thank you for this great site. I thought I was going to go crazy with some of the challenges and then, I found your website.

I hope there will be a game that can be played by all of us, too. Its been a blast. Once Gold Rush is over, I am going to continue to check your site. Just to see if there is a game that people have found to play.

    Again, thanks.

LOL Nicolas, thanks Damm Football Fingers.. GOLD Rush not “Golf Rush” ( I edited thanks). Why did they put the “D” Key next to the “F” Key.. Makes no sense, plus these big ass fingers hit more than one key many o’ time :)

Thank You Eric for the fun, your site, the new browser, which is the best, my game always works and all those that play together. It was the best and I too hope we can continue meeting and sharing.

I think Eric Has great ideas and helps on here in addition to gold rush, and he’s pretty smart as well. I read that Eric is a black belt and is 6’5″
Eric True? Big heart, smart brain, lots of fun and again thank you for this site. Keep sharing other places to go. I have gotten used to watching programs without the commercial interruption from the links here, and have been able to watch and hour show I think it was 43 min. It was great. Hope to keep seeing you all.

Eric, though I was not very helpful with a lot of answers, I did have a few questions along the way and you were always a gentleman, thoughtful, and most willing to help. You sound like a really nice guy. Whatever happens with future games or our ability to keep networking, I wish you the very best life has to offer. This has been a great way to meet nice folks and do something we all seem to enjoy and hate at the same time! Thanks for everything. This site has been such fun.If anyone is a Texas Hold’Em Junkie like me (not real dollars), try FullTiltPoker.net and find me, Ready2Raise. Hope to see you there!

Eric – one more question: How do you copy and paste the puzzles, pictures, and such for this site?

  • 10 Eric G (Random) // Oct 31, 2006 at 11:03 am

    Sandy,

What i do is a simple screen capture, then edit, and upload to the site.

    The simple how to:
On my keyboard, on the right hand side above the delete and insert key, is the PRINT SCREEN button. I hit print screen to capture exactly what i am seeing on my computer screen. (it copies the entire screen). Next i Paste the copied screen print in the PAINT Program. ( Start-programs-accessories-Paint)

Open the PAINT.exe program on your computer, you will see a small white box on the screen. PASTE the contents. Now you will see the whole screen copied into the paint program. There is an icon that looks like an outlined box, ( Select) click that Icon so you can select what part you want. I use the mouse to encircle the part of the picture I want. I copy that new cropped or selected area. Then go to File NEW Picture, and PASTE the new cropped version of your picture. ( you don’t need to save the original). Then Use the File SAVE AS to name the file and save as a JPEG. ( the default attempt to save as a bitmap – which is Hugh). Save to desktop or My Pictures or where ever.

If you have a website, FTP the picture to the site, and link to the picture using the “

Sound long, but the whole thing take like 1 minute. Remember you are using the Copy and Paste function when you “Print Screen” so if you copy something else before you save your screen capture, you will lose it.

    Hope that all makes sense.

I’m with Eric! It would be great if we could find another game like Gold Rush and collaborate about it on this site. I have really enjoyed reading all of your comments and working together to solve the puzzles. Good luck to you all and I really hope that Eric makes it to the final 6.
