DJ AM details his battle with drugs in Glamour magazine and reveals that he hit rock bottom at the age of 24 after years of freebasing cocaine. One day he put a loaded .22 in his mouth and cocked it, but, “the gun didn’t go off.” Now 34, he says it’s been “9 ½ years since I’ve had a drink or taken drugs.” /NYP 13

San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom got engaged to actress Jennifer Siebel while they vacationed over the weekend in Hawaii, a friend confirms. It would be the first marriage for Siebel, 33, and the second for Newsom, 40, whose four-year marriage to Kimberly Guilfoyle ended in divorce in March 2006. /AP

Simon Hammerstein, owner of nightclub The Box, is reportedly happy with the employee who recently spilled drinks on Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. Stanley Burrell, aka MC Hammer, will produce DanceJam.com, a Web site he hopes will compete with YouTube and become the Internet’s hub for sharing and watching dance videos. The site is scheduled to debut in mid-January. /AP

The Post reports that an online petition to stop Comedy Central from “forcing” Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert back on air without their writers is picking up steam. Both are returning to the air with new shows next Monday. According to the petition, neither comedian wants to go back without their writers but are being forced to by the network. /NYP 68

U.S. sprinter Justin Gatlin got his doping ban reduced from eight years to four, but he’ll still be on the sidelines for the Beijing Olympics in August. Gatlin’s ban is now set to expire May 24, 2010, a few months before he’d have to attend the Olympics. /AP

Law Student Kumari Fulbright, an Arizona beauty queen who was crowned Miss Pima County 2008 and is Miss May 2008 for subguns.com, has been indicted for allegedly kidnapping and torturing her former boyfriend, the Arizona Star reported yesterday. /NYP 10

Leona Helmsley’s dog Trouble, who inherited $12 million when Helmsley died last year, has had her dining options downgraded from crab cakes to Alpo. The dog previously had all of her meals prepared by a personal chef but appears to be just as happy eating dog food straight from the can, her handler, John Codey, told CBS’s “Early Show.” Codey also said Trouble’s annual expenses total $300,000, including $210,000 a year for round-the-clock protection. Trouble still lives in Florida, where she fled after receiving death threats in New York, but is expected to travel to the city later this month for a press conference on Helmsley’s charitable trust. /DN 4
