Orlando Bloom has landed the lead role in Disney’s “Prince of Persia” in a deal worth a reported $40 million. “Prince of Persia” will be the third film trilogy for the 31-year-old actor, who also starred in “The Pirates of the Caribbean” and the “Lord of the Rings” movies. /NYP 11

After a five-year breakup, Stone Temple Pilots will reunite for a North American tour. On Monday, Singer Scott Weiland, guitarist Dean DeLeo, bassist Robert DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz revealed the details of their 65-city tour, set to begin May 17 in Columbus, Ohio. DeLeo said the band plans to record a new album after the tour, which is set to wrap in November. /AP
Rob Lowe and his wife are suing their former nanny, claiming she told secrets and lies about their family. The complaint filed Monday in a Los Angeles Superior Court asks for at least $1,000,000 in damages and charges Laura Boyce with violating a confidentiality agreement, defamation and infliction of emotional distress on the former “West Wing” star; his wife, Sheryl; and their two sons. Boyce was hired to take care of their sons for most of 2007 before she quit in November, according to the complaint. /AP
The jury at the inquest into Princess Diana’s death yesterday decided that she and Dodi Fayed died because of reckless driving by their chauffer and the paparazzi that followed them. Diana’s sons, Princes William and Harry, thanked the jurors in a statement yesterday and said they agreed with verdict. /NYP 13

One out of every 15 hospitalized children is harmed by medicine mix-ups, accidental overdosed and drug reactions, according to a new study in April’s Pediatrics. That number is much higher than an earlier estimate of two out of 100 hospitalized children and bolsters concerns already heightened by Denis Quaid’s well-publicized case. /USAT 7D
More than 400 children have been removed from a compound built by polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs. Some 133 women left the ranch voluntarily with the children and were being housed at a historic fort here while authorities conduct interviews. State troopers were holding an unknown number of men in the compound until investigators finished executing a house-to-house search of the ranch. /AP
