Angelina Jolie’s camp offered no comment about a National Inquirer story in which someone is hawking a videotape of a then-younger Jolie snorting and smoking heroin, and is asking for $70,000. Jolie and Brad Pitt were in the south of France yesterday at the villa of billionaire Paul Allen. /DN 17

Audience members who were at Oprah Winfrey’s TV studio for the taping of Tom Cruise’s appearance said the actor was more subdued this time in contrast to his couch jumping on the show a few years ago. The actor, who was accompanied by wife Katie Holmes and their daughter Suri, chatted with audience members during show breaks, said one audience member. Cruise’s appearance was the half of a two-part interview with Winfrey that will air Friday and Monday. /AP

Singer Usher tells Page Six that he had never tried to sell photos of his infant son Usher Raymond V, amid rumors. The artist also defends his wife Tameka, who had been accused of firing Usher’s music team and for not getting along with his mother Jonetta Patton. “I stand by her as a man loving my wife and being there for my child…Opinions are like [bleep]holes.” /NYP 12

As reported yesterday, Mariah Carey, 38, and Nick Cannon. 27, were married in the Bahamas after a one-month relationship, according to sources. Recently Carey and Cannon were seen at the Tribeca Film Festival where the “Touch My Body” singer was sporting a ring on her finger. “Everyone is happy to see her happy,” said Carey’s friend to the Post. As previously reported, another former nanny of Rob Lowe, Laura Boyce, announced in a tearful press conference in L.A. yesterday that she launched a lawsuit that accuses Lowe’s wife, Shelley, of sexual harassment. This follows a lawsuit filed by Lowe’s other nanny, Jessica Gibson, who accused the actor of sexual harassment. /AP

Uma Thurman testified yesterday in a New York court at the trial of her accused stalker Jack Jordan. The actress, who turned 38 on Tuesday, spoke of receiving disturbing e-mails, letters, and phone calls from Jordan for two years. “I feared for the lives of my children,” she said. “I was absolutely sick.” She recalled receiving one card from him that contained the sentence, “My hands should be on your body at all times.” Thurman quickly went to her waiting car after she finished her testimony around 3:30 p.m. /DN 7

Deborah Jeane Pelfrey, the so-called ‘D.C. Madam,’ committed suicide yesterday by hanging herself in a shed at her mother’s home in Florida, authorities said. Pelfrey was convicted in April for running a $2 million prostitution ring. She was facing 57 months to 71 months in prison; a friend of Pelfrey said that she told him she would “rather commit suicide first” than go to jail. /NYP 5
