A holiday visitation schedule was hammered out yesterday during a court hearing in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, an attorney for Spears has asked a court commissioner to keep county authorities from reviewing court filings in Spear’s child custody dispute, saying details of the case could easily leak out. /DN 8, AP

Kevin Federline is on the cover of the December issue of Details, which features the magazine’s Power 50 list. Federline ranks seventh on the list that includes Zac Efron, Shia LaBoeuf and Larry Birkhead. /USAT 1D

Melanie Brown had the highest score from Monday’s “Dancing With the Stars” ballroom battle, increasing her chance of winning the competition on Tuesday’s season finale. Brown and her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, earned 55 out of a possible 60 points for their cha cha and freestyle dances. /AP

One of Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea’s Malibu homes was among those destroyed in wildfires over the weekend, a spokeswoman said. Flea, whose real name is Michael Balzary, had been trying to sell the rental property. A real estate listing advertised the destroyed four-bedroom home for $4.8 million and described it as a “private 2.4 acre compound” set “in a botanical paradise.” /AP

Farrah Fawcett has penned a letter to a Manhattan federal judge asking him to go easy on disgraced Texas billionaire Oscar Wyatt when he is sentenced for his role in the U.N. oil-for-food scandal. Fawcett, 60, said she’s known Wyatt, 83, since she was a youngster in Corpus Christi, Texas. /DN 19

Hulk Hogan’s wife said in a divorce petition that she wants a share of the family’s two multimillion-dollar Florida properties plus alimony and child support for their 17-year-old son. Linda Bollea filed for divorce from Hogan last week after 24 years of marriage. The petition says the marriage is “irretrievably broken.” Hogan is said to be “devastated.” /AP, NYP 11

Mississippi Sen. Trent Lott announced yesterday that he’ll retire this year, ending a 35-year career in Congress. Lott, 66, was ousted as Senate majority leader after making remarks in 2002 at a 100th birthday party for Strom Thurmond that were interpreted as nostalgia for racial segregation. /AP

Vice President Dick Cheney is expected back at work today, a day after he was taken to the hospital for treatment of an irregular heartbeat. Doctors administered an electrical shock to Cheney’s heart and restored it to a normal rhythm during a 2 1/2 hour hospital visit.  /AP

Quiet Riot singer Kevin Dubrow was found dead in a Las Vegas home Sunday. He was 52. There was no sign of forced entry or suspicious activity, police said Monday. /USAT 1D

Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor died early Tuesday, a day after he was shot at home by what police say was an intruder. He was 24. Taylor died at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, where he had been airlifted after the shooting early Monday. /AP

Brooke Astor’s son and one of her former lawyers have been indicted on grand larceny and forgery charges for allegedly forging Astor’s name on a will that gave them control over her millions. Anthony D Marshall and Francis Morrissey are expected to surrender today to face these charges. /DN 7
